Are these questions familiar?
- “How is the Circle Lead of my circle any different from a manager?”
- “What should I consider when nominating a Facilitator or Secretary?”
- “I have a tension and I don’t know how to process it. Can the Circle Rep help?”
Understanding Core Roles & Elections is an online course designed to answer these questions and more. You also get peer learning and expert coaching to help you get comfortable with interacting with Circle Leads, Facilitators, Secretaries, and Circle Reps in your organization.
All circles in a Holacracy-powered organization have four core roles: Circle Lead, Circle Rep, Facilitator, and Secretary. It’s crucial for a smooth and sustainable practice that circle members know what to expect from these roles. They exist to serve you as you work to fulfill your organization’s purpose.
You also need to know what these roles can expect from you as a circle member. While they may fill some of the functions of conventional management, there are big differences that you need to know how to navigate well.
This course will give you a detailed overview of the functions of the core roles, tips for how to interact with them and what to consider for elections, and provide answers to common questions.
